 My name is Gaia... and I'm a little peanut!!  I am seven months old, and I'm also an albino so I must stay out of sunlight for extended periods and I don't do well with cold, either.  But, I am a very good girl.  I ride in cars nicely, like my crate, behave well around other dogs, have pretty good manners and love to be with people!!  I am affected by von Willebrand's disease, meaning that my blood may not always clot as quickly as it does for dogs that aren't affected.  Please read more about vWD at the link below - if emergency treatment is required it can be very costly, so my new owners need to know about this genetic disorder and be willing and prepared to care for me if and when needed.   You can read more about vWD at http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/cardiovascular/c_dg_von_willebrand_disease

Please Note: Applications are considered on an individual basis, and fencing is preferable.  All adoptive homes must be within a reasonable distance from a DRAW volunteer for home visits and follow up care.  A home visit, reference check and vet check must be completed prior to adoption. Please note that we will not place dogs in homes with children under the age of 9.  Please note that at our discretion, we will not adopt to anyone charged or convicted of animal abuse, child abuse, any type of felony or extensive criminal history.
